I Feel A Change Of Working Title Coming On

Bob Dylan has a new album slated for an April release. After recording a track for the soundtrack of My Own Love Song, an inspired Dylan continued laying down tracks with his road band and special guests. (The accordion work of Los Lobos' David Hidalgo is supposed to be all over this thing.)

Rumored track names:
"I Feel A Change Coming On"
"Beyond Here Lies Nothin'"
"If You Ever Go To Houston"
"This Dream Of You"
"My Wife's Home Town"
"It's All Good"
Across the infernets, music geeks are freaking out about the possible (and as-of-yet-unconfirmed-in-any-shape-or-form-so-stop-freaking-out) album title. According to a Norwegian website, the title is I Feel A Change Coming On. See the New Yorker's take on it here.

Hi, Mom

During their coverage of Phish's 3-day reunion in Hampton, VA, Rolling Stone put together some profiles of fans that they met in the parking lot. Nate definitely wins. (Wins what, I don't know. Maybe some hash)

Name: Nate from "everywhere"
Age: 22
Occupation: "I sell herbs and hash"
Number of Phish Shows Seen: 10
Craziest Thing You've Done for Tickets: "I traded a lot of hash for tickets"
Describes the Hampton Crowd As ... "I don't know, dude I'm freaking out. There is fucking ... They are trying to set people up here, it's fucked up. But it's chill here ... I don't know."
Substances You'll Admit to Ingesting Today: Hash

Hampton Comes Alive!

Today should be a national holiday because tonight Phish reunites at one of its old stomping grounds and the recording location for its 6-CD live box set Hampton Comes Alive. The band is playing three sold-out shows at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA this weekend before they gear up for a tour that starts in June (and hopefully never ends). The band has confirmed that this is not just a reunion tour. This is Phish Phase Two. They have already recorded 20 demos for their next album, which they are planning to record this fall. One of the tracks, "Backwards Down The Number Line," is expected to be played this weekend. Check out these links for all the heady goodness:

Tribute to John C. Odom

John Odom, the minor league pitcher famously traded to the Laredo Broncos for 10 maple bats, died November 5, 2008 at the age of 26. He was often taunted on the mound, even by umpires, because of a trade he had no control over. People jokingly referred to him as "Batman." He was traded from the Calgary Vipers to the Laredo Broncos because he was not able to get into Canada due to his earlier criminal record. When a player-for-player trade fell through, the Broncos offered $1,000 for Odom. Because the Vipers have a policy not to accept cash in trades due to public relations concerns and also had a need for bats, they agreed on a deal with the Broncos to trade Odom for 10 baseball bats. John died of an accidental overdose of heroin, methamphetamine, the stimulant benzylpiperazine, and alcohol.

Where's The Fucking Money, Shithead?

787 BILLION DOLLARS is A LOT of money. That's way President Obama has set up http://recovery.gov/. On this website you can check out how your money is being spent. Make sure to check out the site and watch a video introduction by Obama himself. From the site:

Recovery.gov is a website that lets you, the taxpayer, figure out where the money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is going. There are going to be a few different ways to search for information. The money is being distributed by Federal agencies, and soon you'll be able to see where it's going -- to which states, to which congressional districts, even to which Federal contractors. As soon as we are able to, we'll display that information visually in maps, charts, and graphics.
